CONEY ISLAND INFRASTRUCTURE

This $96 million project focused on providing improvements to the Coney Island section of Brooklyn that draws millions of visitors on a daily basis. Through ambitious zoning changes, mapping actions, strategic capital investments, and alliances, the development plan for this project was transformative. With multiple types of civil construction work, these improvements establish the infrastructure and street work necessary to unlock eight developmental parcels in the neighborhood.

Work Completed Includes:

- Replacement and additional installation of sanitary and storm sewers

- Replacement of water mains

- Reconstruction of sidewalks and curbs

- Installation of streetlights, traffic signals, and signage

- Street grade elevations were raised to improve resiliency and protect new storm         sewer facilities

- The landscaped transition area joins newly raised streets and connects Surf Avenue     to the boardwalk
